InsideOut Literary Arts Project proudly presents Scratch the Page, a one-of-a-kind workshop and reading series for high school poets, ages 13 to 18, daring enough to riff and rhyme alongside a group of highly acclaimed national writers, each selected to teach youth the elements of elevating their skills into art.

The 2012 Scratch the Page lineup features :

John Murillo, a New York Times Poetry Fellow & Cave Canem alum,  January 21st, 6 p.m.

Gregory Pardlo, author of Totem &  Poetry Book Review Editor of Callaloo,  February 25th, 6 p.m.

Rachel McKibbens, author of Pink Elephant & a three-time National Poetry Slam finalist, March 31st, 6 p.m.

Don’t miss this opportunity to support Detroit Youth perfecting their performance skills. Readings are open to the public and take place from 6- 7pm at the  Virgil H. Carr Center 311 E. Grand River, unless otherwise noted.

A $5 donation is suggested to help IO continue the series. For more info, contact IO Community Projects Coordinator, Aricka Foreman:  aricka.foreman@gmail.com.
